University Visits, Professional Development Days and Science Fair
January 19, 2026
Greetings and peace to you all. I hope this newsletter happily informs and shares relevant updates of our school. Being the original and longest standing international school in Qingdao, China (established in 1996), we are proud of our strong tradition in providing world-class, American education within an English environment, that holistically raises up servant leaders in every vocation. Be a part of our community that loves, learns and leads!

LifePlus Professional Development Days: Reminder
Mark your calendars for our upcoming LifePlus Professional Development Days on January 29-30! To support our teachers in refining their craft and enhancing student learning experiences there will be no school for students on these two days. Additionally January 28 will be a half-day of classes—please plan accordingly for student pick-up and schedules. We’re grateful for your flexibility as we invest in growing the exceptional education at International School of Qingdao.

College Admissions Connections: South Korea University Visits
Hot on the heels of our insightful Parent Workshop focused on the building blocks of strong college admissions, our secondary team is taking action to strengthen global university partnerships! This week, Mr. Julio Morales (Secondary Principal), Ms. Megan Lee (College and Career Guidance Counselor), and Mrs. Jenny Min are in South Korea meeting with admissions officials at top universities. Their itinerary includes a visit to KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) today and SNU (Seoul National University) tomorrow. These conversations will deepen our understanding of international admissions processes, open doors for our Dolphins, and ensure we continue to provide targeted guidance for students’ post-secondary journeys.
Sichuan Science Fair Trip: Celebrating Curiosity and Growth
Our middle and high school students represented International School of Qingdao at the national-level Sichuan Science Fair after excelling in our on-campus competition. While rankings were not the focus this experience let them embrace friendly competition collaborate with peers and grow their scientific curiosity. A special shoutout to our dedicated teacher chaperones for their guidance!
