New friends, new routines, new year!

For our students, teachers and parents, this week was all about settling into the new school year. In the ECC, our youngest students practiced school-day routines like taking care of their own bags, following directions and transitioning between tasks. In the elementary, teachers welcomed students to their new classrooms and everyone got back into the groove of doing school. Our middle and high school students navigated the hallways and timetables, met new teachers and classmates and sorted out their schedules.  

This week many of our parents joined us on campus for two Meet the Teacher events, with a third program taking place next Tuesday. Parents had a chance to receive training on our key learning platform, Canvas, before touring their child's classroom and meeting their teachers. By investing this time early in the year, parents and staff alike can build connections and create open channels for communication throughout the school year.  

We closed out the week with our first Fantastic Friday. The last Friday of every month, teachers dress down and students can wear ISQ Cove apparel or represent their house with house colors. This fun tradition of friendly competition between Liddell, Goforth, Taylor and reigning champion Morrison is a part of what makes the school experience so much more than what happens in the classroom!
