美术激发学习

International School of Qingdao's Fine Arts program is crafted to help students flourish. Whether they're on the stage or in the studio, students have opportunities to grow in personal expression, appreciation of beauty and to work collaboratively with peers and teachers. Ms Miaw, Fine Arts Head of Department, expresses our vision this way, "Our program prepares students to be lifelong music makers, artists and thespians who engage with the world as critical thinkers, collaborators and leaders."
Students from age 3 to Grade 12 are given freedom to explore a variety of methods of expression in the visual arts and music. As Ms Manscero says of her study of art, "It has helped me to become a deep observer of the world," and this is what we hope all of our students gain from their study of the arts.
Our distinctive culture of care is evident in the Fine Arts classroom. Teachers are able to work directly with students in one-on-one or small group settings to help cultivate their technical skills and connection to their work. With small class sizes, theatre students often perform various roles in a drama production, from set-building and backstage work to lead roles on stage. Ms Petersen, drama director says, "Especially in a class setting, I want [students] to learn about the whole process of putting on a drama."
As we move towards the end of the semester, we all look forward to the annual Fine Arts Galas, the high school theatre production and student performances at various Christmas events. Stay posted for more details about all of these upcoming events.
