When did you start at ISQ and how long were you with us?
- I came to ISQ on the second semester of 2nd grade, so I have been in ISQ for around 9 to 10 years.
What college do you go to, when did you start, and what do you study?
- I am attending Yonsei University since September of 2024 and I am majoring in Business.
What’s your favorite thing about your college? What’s a good memory you have from your first year in college?
- In Yonsei, all freshman spend one year at a different campus apart from the campus in Seoul. So, I am currently studying in Songdo, Incheon. Many people think the life away from the main campus is boring, however, I can confidently say that my experience here will be one of the most memorable time in my university life. Since everyone must stay at the school dormitory together, we spend the entire day from morning to (mid)night together. Other good memories from school are the big school events like the Yonsei and Korea joint cheering event and the Yon-Ko Games.
What’s a challenge you’ve faced in your first year since graduating?
- There are several challenges like figuring out meals and doing my laundry routinely but the main challenge I went through was taking classes in Korean. All the classes happen in Korean and the assignments given should be submitted in Korean, so as a student who studied in English my whole life, this was a challenge. So, I purposely took the classes that were offered in English and also submitted assignments in English if the professor allowed the students to.
What are some of your best memories from ISQ? What do you miss about ISQ?
- My best memories from ISQ are the school and LifePlus events, and those are the things I miss most. Every time I see a school post about MUN or a sports event like LifePlus and QISN, it reminds me of when I was attending those events. Also for sports, after graduating from high school it has become more difficult to participate in different kinds of sports. So, I really miss playing volleyball and soccer with my team :)
What advice would you give to our seniors this year?
- My advice for the seniors is to enjoy the last year of high school. Having only a couple of months left to graduation, I bet a lot of them would have senioritis, but my advice would be to study hard play hard until the end. Studying at an international school means that after graduating you will separate to different countries, so make sure to spend time with your classmates when you have the chance to.
