MUNiSQ XVI: Solutions for the Intractable
March 07, 2025
We are proud to share that the 16th session of the Model United Nations International School of Qingdao (MUNiSQ), themed Solutions for the Intractable, closed with success last weekend. It was a remarkable student-led event, organized primarily by our high schoolers, with invaluable support from our dedicated teacher advisors. Over 180 students from all 5 LifePlus Schools and several local international schools participated in this conference, including 60 from ISQ. MUN provides an excellent platform for students to enhance their public speaking and critical thinking skills while also fostering connections with friends and peers.
Gina Lee, a senior at ISQ, who served as the Secretary-General for MUNiSQ 2025, shared her insights from the event: “MUNiSQ 2025 marks my 13th and last conference. Throughout my high school years, MUN has been a staple event that helped me grow in many aspects and connected me with diverse people worldwide. With 10 of our students serving on the Executive Team, we planned for almost an entire year for this successful conference. From researching world issues to managing logistics, we experienced real-life problem-solving. I could clearly see our team growing in their leadership and organizational skills, and I hope they carry these abilities into their future endeavors.”
The conference featured six committees, where nearly 150 delegates and chairs debated various topics related to the environment, economics and world security. Gina also highlighted “Our media and journalism team (MUNiSQUILL) captured wonderful moments during the conference, creating the traditional MUNiSQUILL magazine in just three days, which captured the best moments of the event.” Link Here
We are also proud to announce that Kenny Noh won the award for "Best Delegate" in the Economic and Social Council, and Grace Jang received the "Most Improved Delegate" award in the World Health Assembly. Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and dedication! This event truly showcased our students' leadership and organizational abilities, exemplifying our school motto: We learn, we love and we lead.
We are incredibly impressed by their achievements and the collaborative spirit displayed throughout the conference.
Sharing the same hope as Gina, “I extend my gratitude towards everyone who participated and served in MUNiSQ this year and cannot wait to see our traditional event grow even stronger as the years come.”
