Alumni Spotlight. Clara Yi

This week, we had a special visit from one of our own, Clara Yi, Class of 2015.

Clara wasn't just any student during her time here; she was deeply involved in our MUN program, helping to run MUNiSQ and participating in 15 conferences during her five years in the program. She was an active member of NHS/NEHS and loved participating in theatre productions. After graduating, she went to Yonsei University in Seoul, tackling a double major in Economics and International Relations.

From middle school, Clara has been all about making a global impact. Internships at the World Food Programme and the Development Bank of Latin America in Bogotá are just a couple of examples. Now, she's at Hyundai Motor Company, working as a Global Product Manager.

During her visit, Clara had a Q&A session with our high school students. They were curious about everything – from handling AP exams (she took 10 during her time here), to staying in touch with classmates, and juggling a double major in college.

Clara's advice was down-to-earth and practical. Embrace diversity, it enriches your thoughts and experiences. Networking is key – connect with peers, mentors, and professors. And languages? They're a bridge to the world, opening doors to new cultures and opportunities.

Clara embodies what it means to be a Dolphin. From striving for academic excellence to challenging herself in extra-curriculars and working to make a global impact, Clara has lived out our purpose statement of inspiring learners to make a life-changing difference for the common good.
