Secondary Parent Meetings

From our Secondary Principals

Dear Secondary Parents and Students,

We are in the last five weeks of this unique school year. I encourage you to check PowerSchool at the end of the week as all grades should be updated. In general, if students have struggled to this point to earn a passing grade or submit enough assignments in any class then they will notice that their scores have been updated as “incomplete.” Please contact teachers if you have any questions about grades, especially on how to catch up in classes.

We know that circumstances surrounding COVID-19 have made it difficult for any of us to be at our best this semester. Regardless, we are thankful even during these circumstances that we can celebrate successes had as well as support each other through struggles. Furthermore, these circumstances do not detract from our worth and potential. Even though we may all have hoped for a very different semester, we are also thankful that we have faced this experience together, knowing that we are stronger together regardless of what may come our way.

We are working with the Secondary Team to determine how to end this year well and how to start next year well. We invite you to be a part of these conversations and to hear a bit of our progress on how we hope to support individual grades in their transitions from this year to next in grade-level specific Zoom meetings according to the schedule below.
• Grade 6: Monday, 18 May 2020 at 10:00 am
• Grade 7: Tuesday, 19 May 2020 at 8:00 am
• Grade 8: Tuesday, 19 May 2020 at 10:00 am
• Grade 9: Friday, 22 May 2020 at 10:00 am
• Grade 10: Wednesday 27 May 2020 at 10:00 am
• Grade 11: Monday, 25 May 2020 at 10:00 am
• Grade 12: Wednesday, 13 May 2020 at 12:00 pm
Zoom links will be sent to WeChat groups via room moms closer to the events.

If you have questions, feedback, and/or concerns that you hope to discuss at this meeting, please share them in English and Chinese with Sarah Cheng, or in Korean with Haley Park. We look forward to meeting with you soon!

Blessings,

Randy Attaway

Wearing Masks Matter

Wearing a mask does not automatically mean you are protected. A mask only protects you when you use it in the way it was intended to be worn. While the right way to use a mask may seem obvious (see image on right), you want to make sure that you consistently use it in the right way so you can get the protection needed.

When wearing masks, also remember:

  1. Wash your hands before and after wearing a mask.
  2. Once you have a mask on, avoid touching or adjusting it.
  3. Remove mask by undoing the loops behind your ears, avoiding to touch the front surface of the mask.

For more information on using a mask check out: When and How to Use Masks
